10 reasons why our ski hostel makes for an ideal winter holiday
It may sound cheesy, but the main aim behind our Ski Hostel project, aside from skiing of course, is to bring people together from all backgrounds, cultures and walks of life. By doing so, we hope to create a fun and easygoing international atmosphere.
2. Free Ski Lessons!
Since we're keen skiers and certified instructors ourselves, we want to pass on our knowledge and passion to others, which is why we're offering free initiation lessons to all first time skiers who join come to our hostel!
2 x 2 hour beginner level lessons per week
3. Low Price, High Quality
At €750 a week including half board accommodation, ski passes and airport transfers, we're confident that we're offering one of the cheapest package prices you'll find anywhere in Switzerland, or Europe for that matter.
However, a low price doesn't equate to poor quality as we offer good food, quality ski slopes and a fun time!
4. Ski Resorts
Beginner, expert or somewhere in between?
Again, no problem!
While our local ski resorts are small, they offer a mix slopes for all ability levels and what's more, they're much quieter than nearby Verbier (30 mins drive) and frequented by locals more than tourists, meaning you'll have less people to get in your way!
The closest ski resort is just a 5 minute drive, with our daily, free running shuttle service!
5. If you fancy a visit to Verbier, that can be arranged!
Alongside the ski pass, we'll provide you with for the 3 ski resorts in our area, you'll get a booklet full of discount vouchers for places in the local area such as:
- St Bernhard Museum
- Local Swimming Pool
- Ice Skating
6. Ski Equipment
Don't have your own ski or snowboarding equipment?
While we're unable to include ski equipment in the price, you'll be able to rent everything you need through us from one of the local ski shops at a special discounted rate!
Included in the price are 2 meals a day cooked by our expert and fun-loving chefs!
This includes a full breakfast buffet, including cereals, bread, yogurt, eggs and bacon, plus delicious evening meals that take inspiration from both Swiss and international cuisine.
And of course no trip to Switzerland would be complete without Raclette and Fondue! If you don't fancy splashing out on lunch at the slopes, you're free to use the kitchen in the afternoon, however the restaurant on our local slopes are very reasonably priced by Swiss standards!
8. Après Ski
Enjoying the mountain views with a hot cup of mulled wine or an ice cold beer after a fun day's skiing can be almost as fun as the skiing itself!
Our local ski resorts may be small, but they still have a bar at the top and bottom of the lifts, and often host a live band or DJ, meaning you won't miss out on the after ski party!
If you don't fancy splashing out on Swiss bar prices, our chalet has a spacious garden and plenty of chairs, so grab a carryout from the supermarket and feel right at home!
9. Socialising and Nightlife
Our hostel may a little out of the way with regards to the region's nightlife, however with a large common room, chilling area and up to 40 guests plus our young staff, we can keep the party going every night.
And what's better? It's cheap as you can bring your own alcohol!
Though we also have a very reasonably priced bar for those in need!
10. Want to head for a proper night out?
If you want to hit the famous international nightlife in Verbier or go for more of a Swiss night out in Martigny, we'll happily organise a pick up and drop off service for you at a very reasonable price!
